Participation is not only posting. It includes reading, returning, searching, hesitating, and choosing one room instead of another. A strong pulse is not always loud. A weak pulse is not always empty. The operator needs to read motion and absence together.
Pulse work asks what the community is telling the system without forcing every signal to become a metric.

Topic gravity: questions that keep attracting views, replies, or private follow-through.
Room pressure: chat rooms that become operationally dense or socially quiet.
Archive return: older posts that continue to support new decisions.
Silence shape: areas where members stop moving, even though the path remains open.
Where to Use It
Use community pulse with participation thresholds. The pulse shows what is happening now. The threshold shows when the pattern deserves a response.
Operator Rule
Read silence as data, but do not punish it for being quiet.
